Referral Criteria - Agencies

The child or young person has been living with domestic abuse for over 3 months and is showing signs of negative impact.

The child or young person lived with domestic abuse 18 – 24 months ago but is still displaying levels of negative impact.

Based on their violent experience, the child or young person has been emotionally, mentally or physically harmed.

The child or young person has behavioural problems clearly linked to living with domestic abuse.

The parent and/or the child have not ‘really’ spoken about their domestic abuse experience. 

The child or young person has had little or no intervention and is unable to safety plan.

The risk of further emotional harm to the child or young person is significant.

Referral Criteria - Parent/Carer

Self Referral for Young People

You are worried, scared, sad or angry about the domestic abuse that is happening or happened.

You would like your mum to know how you feel or have been feeling.

You would like to know more about domestic abuse and why it happens.

You are or have been in a domestic abusive relationship over 12 to 18 months ago.

You and your child have not had any really spoken about what happened.

It is evident that the domestic abuse has negatively impacted your child.

You will consent to your child attending the TRH programme for 8 weeks.

You are willing to talk to your child about some things that happened.

You are willing for your child to get support after TRH has finished.

You haven’t spoken to anyone about the domestic abuse at home.

You are thirteen or over.

You need to talk to someone about your feelings.
